NBA Opening Night: The Classic Rivalry between Bulls and Heat

On October 29th, the NBA 2013 - 2014 has officially begun. On the opening night, 3 games took place in Indianapolis, Miami and Los Angelos to start off the season. The first game of the season was Indiana Pacers versus Orlando Magic. The second game was Miami Heat taking on their biggest rivalry team Chicago Bulls. Prior to game, the Heat held their banner raising ceremony and the champion rings ceremony. Their third game of the night was a show down in Los Angelos where the Lakers hosted the Clippers.

However, out of all these fantastic season openers, the classic Bulls vs Heat rivalry was no doubt everyone's center of attention. Bull's star point guard Derrick Rose made his season debut from his year off in 2013. This was the first Bulls vs Heat game since last years playoff where the Bulls fell to the Heat 4 -1 in a 7 games series. During the playoffs, Bulls center Joakim Noah made a statement to the media addressing the unfriendly tension between the two teams by stating: ' I love Miami, but I definitely don't like the Heat. I love the city, I went to school there but I don't like the Heat'. Lebron James, Heat's small forward,  made a response to Noah's statement the day before the season's opener: 'They don't like us, we don't like them. It's no big secret. They don't like us so we don't like them'.

The Bulls vs Game kicked off at 8:00 pm after the Heat's ring ceremony. The Bulls started off strong in the first quarter but the Heat made a comeback in the end and the first quarter the Bulls trails the Heat 15 -17. Second quarter, Bulls started to lose their defense and the Heat powers over the Bulls scoring 37 points and the Bulls 18 points. Rose scored 7 points in the first half. The third quarter came out sloppy for the Bulls but made a strong comeback half way through 3rd scoring 25 points and Heat scored 24 points. 4th quarter the Bulls picked up their pace. Jimmy Butler and Carlos Boozer were outstanding in the last quarter but wasn't enough to stop Lebron and Wade. the Bulls scored 37 points and the Heat scored 29. The Game ended with Bulls fell to the Heat 95 to 107.
