How to De-stress

As the end of the school year approaches, students are getting more stress than ever. With exams and summatives piling up, it could be a bit of a rough time. As for grads, there are even more things to pay attention to such as universities and college. On top of that, the summer heat really isn't helping. So here are a few ways to de-stress yourself when everything just sort goes 'BLAH'.

1. Exercise
Whenever people hear 'you need to work out!' most people's reaction are often 'yeah exercising isn't my thing ... I just get more tired!'. WRONG. Exercises actually helps take one's mind off of the current tasks and responsibility, and just focus on the physical aspect of one's self. At the end of an work out, muscle gets relaxed and so does one's mind. It helps increases level of concentration as well of productivity. Next time, instead of taking a break and watch TV, go for a run or go hit up the gym!

2. Meditation/Yoga
This may sound lame and isn't exactly compatible with everyone, but it's important to take time off and just relax. Think positive things while doing yoga. Let your mind run free, think of the impossible situations, think of places you want to visit. Just 15 minutes of these can really help decreases the level of stress.

3. Live your fantasy
When was the last time you really picked up a book and lose yourself in a story? And I don't mean watching a movie or tv shows. Reading a book is also another way to de-stress and here's why. When reading a novel, one focuses on the words and tend to create images base on the words consumed. This will temporarily yet effectively takes one's mind off of stress. Watching TV and movies don't have the same effect because it's already visual. Your brain isn't really thinking and working by consuming visuals. Reading a book and help escape reality just for a little, and after finishing reading the stories, it really helps improve moods thus help improve productivity and efficiency.

Here are the 3 tips for de-stressing, try them out and enjoy the end of the school year!

Taipei MRT Massacre

On my 21st, an horrifying and devastated event occurred on one of Taipei's most popular transportation system MRT. A young man of age 21, boarded the underground MRT, with 2 knifes in each hand, starting from the back of the train, cutting down everyone in his way until he made it to the head of the train. 25 people were severely wounded, 4 people lost their lives. Making this one of the most terrifying massacre.

For those who are not familiar with the Taiwan's MRT. It is an advanced subway system that runs all across Taipei city. It is the main transportation for more than one million people on a daily basis. Chang Jie, the murderer responsible for this incident, is a second year university student who attended Dong Hai University. According to Chang Jie's roommates and family, he never had a great amount of friends, he was not in a relationship, and he spends most of his days playing videos that includes graphic contents and killing. Chang Jie seemed to lead a mundane life, despite being rejected by a different university 2 years ago, he didn't seem to have any motifs to commit such crime. His roommates and brother could not believe that this introvert man was the one responsible for the injury of 25 injuries and 4 deaths.

It was mentioned that Chang Jie once vowed to do something 'big' one day. He never indicated what this 'big thing' was going to be nor did anyone close to him had any clues. Allegedly, Change Jie wanted to committ this mass murder after he graduate from university, however, upon that day he randomly decided that today was the day. It is clear that he had been planning on how to go about this murder. Typically on MRT, it takes no longer than 2 minutes to reach the next station.However, from Jiang Zi Tusi station to Longsan Temple Station takes a total of 3 minutes and 46 seconds; the longest ride from one station to another on the MRT map. And that was the ride that Chang Jie picked to accomplish his 'big thing'.

Chang Jie boarded the last cart of the train. He proceeded to walking to the front of the train, cutting down every passenger with the knifes he had prepared. His weapons were 2 fruit knifes (30cm). Because of the high speed MRT system, the train could not be stopped once the door closes. Which gave Chang Jie 3 minutes to do whatever he wishes. After the arrived at the station, he proceeded to attacked the people waiting on the platform. As he attempted to escape through exit 2, he was attacked and brought down by civilians, and later arrested by police officers.

Initially this news shocked me, because MRT was once my main transportation method as well. This news definitely suggested a lack of security at the MRT stations. I personally would not stop taking MRT just because of this event because there really isn't any other options for those who really need a quick way to get around Taipei. However I do think the government should improve the security otherwise how do we know this isn't going to happen again?

Donald Sterling's Mistake and Adam Silver's Decision

On April 24th, it was reported by TMZ that Donald Sterling allegedly made a racist comment on Instagram. Though TMZ had always been known for it's false reports, this time it seems like they have solid proofs. Donald Sterling is the owner of Los Agnelos's NBA basketball team LA Clippers. The racist comments came from a video that was posted by a woman who was reported to be Donald's ex-girlfriend. This news has stirred up a huge controversy. 

There was a recording released on Instagram that the recording of a conversation between Sterling and a female friend. In the video, Sterling's voice and be heard. In the conversation, Sterling argues with the female friend because she had posted a picture of herself with basketball legend Magic Johnson. Sterling seemed to be angry about this photo and commented: "It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you're associating with black people.'' and later said: ''You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want", but "the little I ask you is ... not to bring them to my games.'' 

After this video went public, it brought a lot of negative attention. Players such as Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan all commented on Sterling's remark. Teams such as Clippers and Heat all show their protest and support by wearing their warm-up shirts inside out in order to obscure any team logo. 

On April 29th, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made a decision on the Sterling's comment. Silver announced at 2PM at a press conference, stating that Sterling must pay a fine of 2.5 million dollars, sell the ownership of LA Clippers. Furthermore, Donald Sterling is now banned from the NBA for life. 

Personally, I applaud commissioner Adam Silver for making the right decision. Seeing that there would be no other proper action to take, I have much respect for him for sticking for the players. Such discrimination should not be tolerated in a professional sports league. 

Home Sickness

Home sickness is probably one of the worst distress one could have. There is no solution to it other than being in the presence of one's home. For many people who are suffering from home sickness are usually the ones who cannot escape their circumstances to return home. I for one know exactly how that feels.

I immigrated to Canada nearly 6 years ago and since then I've visited my home country 4 times. I am 18 years old and I lived in Taiwan until I was 10. I spent more than half of lives living there. I suppose it would have been easier if I never returned home in the first place like some of the people I know who have done so. They have a much better time with their current lives knowing that going home isn't an option, and I envy them.

I've been homesick ever since I moved to Canada. Every minute of the day, my mind is constantly being occupied by memories of my time in Taiwan. I may not always think of them, but I know these flashbacks hangs in the back of my mind. It's scary thing to let your mind wonder, sometimes I deliberately let myself explore my past memories, only to come back to reality realizing that I'm not actually there. This could happen anytime of the day, any day of the week, any week of the year. I try not to think about them, for once I see these images inside my head, my emotion runs freely. It's embarrassing to admit but I just might break down in the middle of the day because of how much I miss my home.

This is something hard to admit to people as well. It puts them in an awkward situation because there is no way of consulting someone who is suffering from home sickness; and those who suffers knows that. Is there really a nice way to tell people that you feel like you don't belong here? that right here right now is not where you want to be? that 90% of the time all you think about is going home?

Ah going home... I refuse refer to Canada as my home. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Canada, I don't hate living in this country. I just hate the fact that I am so far away from my real home. As much as much as love what this country has to offer, I think everyone who came from a different place can assure you that there is no where on this Earth more beautiful than home.

I don't want sympathy, I don't want pity, and I especially don't want to hear 'Of course you do belong here!' If anything, that makes me even more upset than I would be. Don't try to deprive my definition of home from me, don't try to convince that Canada could be my home. I don't know when will I truly get over this sickness that I've been suffering for years. Perhaps I should stop visiting every once or two years. But I know that it'd only drive me insane. I don't know what my future holds, I just hope I'm still proudly telling people that Taiwan is my home.

Godzilla

Strap in for a brand new reboot of the classic Japanese kaiju film: Godzilla is back! On May 16th, the world's favorite radioactive lizards once again terrorize the streets of a city and creates massive destruction. If you enjoy action movies and giant monsters, this is the movie for you and it is a must see of 2014 movies.

Since the last Godzilla film the 1998, Godzilla hasn't had a feature film for nearly 20 years. This year, Legendary and Warner Bro. are releasing a brand new reboot of everyone's favorite monster Godzilla. Warner Bros. has been very reserved about the content of the film, even in the 2 minute trailer one can still barely tell the main plot of the movie, which creates a very mysterious and highly anticipated vibe to the movie. This movie stars Breaking Bad's leading actor Bryant Cranston, along with Aaron Taylor Johnson and Emily Olsen for the female leading part. Up to now there's been no indication where and when the movie takes place, or what exactly the role of Bryan, Aaron and Emily will be, but there is one thing that is certain: Godzilla has returned.

Personally, I cannot wait to see this movie because of my love for action and monster film. Since Pacific Rim, there hasn't been any movies that really satisfied my needs for intense a intense action sequences. I have high hopes for Godzilla because Legendary never fails my expectation for a well plotted sci-fi movie. I look forward to seeing this film in the theater.

Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement

Whenever someone asks me what's my nationality, I always proudly say 'I am Taiwanese!'  Sometimes people questions if that is the same thing as Chinese, I always tell them no, being Taiwanese means being a citizen of Republic of China, not People Republic of China. The biggest difference between Taiwan and China is that Taiwan is a democratic country. The citizens have the right to speak of their opinions. This is something that Taiwan is most proud of. As of today, my country's future is in serious jeopardy. In June 2013, the Taiwanese government signed a agreement with China, without publicly releasing the details of the agreement. This agreement allows the Chinese come to Taiwan and open up their own companies, hold residency for an undetermined period of time and receive free healthy care benefits, as long as they invest certain amount of money in the Taiwanese government. As much as this would help boost Taiwan's economy, the price that the Taiwanese nation must pay is to allow the Chinese take over the majority of Taiwan's business industry. While this seems like a huge problem for Taiwan's future, the bigger problem we face today is this: Taiwanese government singed this agreement with China without the consent of the nation. If Taiwan still wants to keep it's democracy, such action cannot be tolerated. Democracy is what Taiwanese value the most, if the government can make decisions for the country without the nation's support, how long before the Chinese move in, take control of the government and have Taiwan become a part of China? Taiwan has been fighting for more than 60 years to keep it's independence, and we are not about to stop now. On March 30th, 500,000 students and citizens gathered in the heart of downtown Taipei to protest against the government's decision. (Sunflower Student Movement)

I myself is not big in politics, but I will defend for my country until the day I die. I believe that it is necessary to keep a friendly bond with China, but merging with them or having the Chinese move in is not an option. I don't know what kind of fate Taiwan faces right now, I just hope in a few years I can still proudly tell people that I am Taiwanese, and I am a citizen of Republic of China.

Thing That You Might Have Missed In Disney's Frozen

Disney's feature film of 2013 Frozen just received 2 Academy Awards for Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature Film. Though this heart warming family movie rose popularity fairly quickly, some might have missed certain details in film that would make you look at this movie in a completely different way.

For example: In the beginning of the film, it was shown that there are several grown men harvesting ice with little Kristoff and little Svan. It was never established if any of these men are Kristoff's father. Though, most would think not because it was shown that these men left Kristoff and Svan behind, leaving them to find their own way home (which is when they encountered Elsa's family on their way to consulting the magical trolls). After following the ice trail left behind by Elsa, Kristoff and Svan encountered a female trolls that said: ''Oh! cuties! I'm gonna keep you!''. Now, in many legends and myths, it was known that trolls have magical powers to temper with people's memory. For example: a troll was able to take out Anna's memory, alter everything she ever remembered about Elsa's magical power, and leading her to believe her sister never had any sort of magic. Here's the kicker: How do we know if the trolls didn't use the same magic on Kristoff to make him believe that he never had real parents?

Spooky isn't it? in some other legends, trolls are also known for kidnapping children. For all we know, Kristoff's real parents could have been searching for him for years and eventually gave up. Are trolls really friendly and nice? ARE THEY?!

Act of Kindness at Sochi 2014

Olympics is the world's most competitive sporting event. Athletes train for years for years to represent their country. Though there are only gold, silver and bronze for every category, everyone gets credit for competing in the sport. Sometimes, unfortunate situations do occur, some fall on ice, some lose balance in the air and some misses a goal. But that is the thing about Olympics, it was never about beating another country, it was about celebrating these athlete's hard work and being kind to one another. That's exactly what Canadian coach Justin Wadsworth did for a Russian skier.

At the men's cross country sprint final, Russian skier Anton Gafarvo's left ski had broken and fell off during the race. Canadian head coach Justin Wadsworth who was watching the race, ran to Gafarvo's aide, giving him Alex Harvey (a Canadian skier that wasn't quality for the final)'s spare skii. The grand gesture of Wadsworth caught a lot attention, especially because no Russian staff had came to help Garfarvo. When interviewed for Wadsworth's act of kindness, he simply said ''It seemed like the Olympics thing to do... It was about giving him some dignity so he didn't have to walk to the finish line.'' 

This was not the first time act of kindness had been done in Olympics. In 2006, during women's cross country team sprint final, Beckie Scott and Sara Renner from Canada were racing when Renner broke her pole. Watching the race, Norweigan coach Bjornar Hakensmoen, gave Renner a new pole allowing her to finish her race. In the end, Renner and Scott finished the race in second place winning a silver medal and Norway finished in fourth place. 

As a thank you, Canada donated 8000 cans of maple syrup to Norwegian embassy. Phone calls and letters of appreciation was sent to the embassy as well. Now a days, it's rare to see such honorable sportsmanship. I am glad in 2014, we can still witness such acts of kindness. 

Missing Plane

One of the most trending topic is probably the Malaysia Airline's missing plane, flight 370. Where did the plane go? What happened to it? Has it been found yet?

Flight 370 departed from Kuala Lumpur Airport, has gone missing after less than one hour after take off. The last message coming from the aircraft was 'Alright, good night' which was not a code for any potential hijacking. Soon after, the transponder on the plane was turned off, and the Malaysia Airport Control was not able to contact the flight since. On the military radar, it was shown that the plane was way off it's course, 200 miles south of Penang. 2 hours after it's scheduled arrival the Beijin Airport, it was reported missing.

Though there's been several sighting of the debris in the Indian Ocean, none has been able confirm if the pieces were in fact part of Flight 370. The missing plane carried 239 passengers and crew members, all the relatives of the passengers from the flight has been gathered at the Kuala Lumpur airport awaiting for the plane to be found.

There are several theories on what could have happen to the plane. Some say it was hijacked as it was reported that there are 4 passengers on the plane with stolen passports. Some say it must have crashed in the Indian Ocean as it would have ran out of fuels by now. Personally, I feel lucky to able to witness such stranger event in my lifetime (though still sad that the plane has not been found)  All of the other missing boats.or aircraft myths all occurred before I was born. Some of my theories is that the plane must have landed somewhere; hijacked or not, because how can anyone possibly lose an airplane? My other theory is more supernatural, my guess is that the plane went through some kind of portal and went into an alternate universe, and that it should turn up years later.

Nonetheless, Flight 370 is perhaps the most mysterious case of our time. Crashed or not, I hope the missing flight will turn up soon.

Oscar 2014 Highlights

''Welcome to the Academy Award! Here is your host! Ellen Degeneres!'' Oh my Ellen, Ellen, Ellen. Oscar 2014 has been on e of the most highly anticipated even of the year. 2014's nominees are high quality films, featuring big name actors such as Bradly Cooper, Christian Bale, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Matthew Mcconaughay and Leonardo Dicaprio. There are also some new faces such as Lupita N'yongo, Chiewtel Ejofor, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi and Joaquim Pheonix. Here are some highlights from the award show. 

First of all, Ellen Degenres did a fantastic job hosting the show. It was recorded as the most watched TV live event since 2000. There were multiple musical performances during the show for Best Original Song category. Pharrell Williams kicked off the show with his hit song Happy that brought many celebrity on their feet and danced Pharrell himself.

However though, Pharrell's Happy had no chance standing up against Idina Menzel's Let It Go from Frozen. Prior to Idena's performance, she was introduced by John Travolta where he complete mispronounced Idina's name!

Oh no John! 

After about two afters into the show, Ellen decided to ask if anyone wanted Pizza, half an hour later, Ellen arrived on the stage with a pizza guy and started distributing dinner for the biggest celebs in Hollywood! 

After dinner, Ellen pulled out her Smartphone and asked Meryl Streep for selfie wanting to break Twitter's record for the most retweeted picture. Here is the result of the selfie: 

And yes, Ellen did break Twitter's record and became the most retweeted selfie with 3 millions + retweets! 

Overall, Oscars 2014 was hell of an event and it did not disappoint me one bit. It was everything I expected and more from a show hosted by Ellen. It was a very entertaining and satisfying and amusing. Whoever hosts the show has a lot of legacy to live up to! 

Game of Thrones Season 4

April 7, journey back to Westero, where dragons and White Walkers roams the realm. Prepare yourself as the seven noble houses continues their battle for the Iron Throne. Game of Thrones Season 4 is returning in less than 2 weeks.

HBO's original TV series Game of Thrones is coming back for it's fourth season. After nearly 10 months of waiting, the fans are dying to see their favorite TV show making it's way back on screen. Last season, Game of Thrones left off with the aftermath from the devastating Red Wedding. Arya has escaped The Twins with The Hound after witnessing his brother's corpse being paraded around, Bran and his companion encountered  Sam and Gilly in the north, Jon Snow made his way back to The Wall after being pierced with several arrows by Ygritte, Yara was determined to rescue Theon Greyjoy from Ramsey Snow, and Daenerys Targaryan freed all the slaves of Yunkai.

HBO has released several thrilling trailers hinting some big changes that is about to happen in the series. New Characters are introduced such as Oberyn Martell, the first of House Martell to appear in the series. Tyrion Lannister seems to face great dangers in Kings Landing, Arya seems to be lost in Westero with The Hound, while Jon Snow is off to fight the evil spirits beyond The Wall. HBO promises many more heart stopping jaw dropping turns of events for the new season.

Personally, being a huge fan of the Game of Thrones book and TV franchise, I cannot wait to see the series return. Geroge R.R Martin made it clear that season fourth truly stays authentic to the book and he himself could not be more excited to watch the show. HBO has really done a terrific job with Game of Thrones in the past and I have very high hope for season 4!

R.I.P Paul Walker

On November 30, 2013. The star of the franchise Fast and Furious, Paul Walker passed away. Walker died in a tragic car accident along with his friend Roger Rodas. It was reported that Walker and Rodas was leaving a charity even that Walker hosted, the two got in a car and left. From the crime scene it looked like the car was speeding through the streets and went out of control and ran into a light post. Roads appeared to be the one driving the vehicle however, both died on the spot.

Paul Walker was in the middle of shooting the 7th movie of Fast and Furious causing the entire movie to be put on hold. It was later announced that the movie will have to restart thus pushing the initial released back a year. Walker's death was devastating for the fans the franchise and the cast and crews of Fast and Furious. Condolences came from every where on the internet. The most emotional post by far is by Walker's long time friend and partner in the movie: Vin Diesel. Diesel's facebook post on Walker's death:

''When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother's house...
I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs. His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry... I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son?... She said yes, but you lost your other half...''

Paul Walker will forever live on in the Fast and Furious movie. The world shall never forget this man who  dedicated his life making others happy. Rest in peace, Paul Walker.

Some of my personal most anticipated movies are Transcendence, Godzilla and Need For Speed. After the horrible box office result of the latest Johny Depp movie The Lone Ranger, I can not help but wonder if Depp is going to 'take a break' from the acting career. When Transcendence was announced I was beyond thrilled to the see Depp's name in the trailer. Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul has had a successful year and is at the peak of his acting career. Paul who is someone have never starred in a leading role in a movie before finally get the chance to break out the Jesse Pinkman TV character phase and begin a new career in the film industry. This movie no doubt is going to be one of the most anticipated action movie in 2014. Everyone is just dying to see more of Aaron Paul's performance. Godzilla is my top choice of action movie in 2014. Growing up everyone has heard of Godzillia, however this giant radioactive lizard hasn't appeared in film for more than 15 years. This movie is going to be extraordinary and better than the 1998 version with all the newest animation technology. With casts such as Bryant Cranston, Aaron Taylor Jonson and Emily Olsen, this remake for sure going to be one of the biggest hit of 2014.

Overall, 2014 looks like a promising year jam packed with action goodies! For an action junkie like me, I am for sure going to be visiting the theater multiple times!

Bound 2, Bound 3

Kanye West's newest music video for his hit single 'Bound 2' was released on youtube 2 months ago featuring his newly engaged fiance, Kim Kardashian. This video was popular to earn 1 million hits after one week. Today the video stands at 24 million views thanks to another video released shortly after 'Bound 2', this video was 'Bound 3'. 

Bound 3 is not a sequel of Bound 2. Bound 3 was a parody video of Kanye's Bound 2. Bound 3 was produced by James Franco starring the man himself and his buddy Seth Rogen. While the 2 movies stars were having a little bit of downtime, after seeing Kanye's ridiculous music video (which features multiple pointless scenery shots, Kanye and Kim on a motorcycle, with Kim completely topless and a terrible song) the duo decided to create a spoof of the song; shot by shot. 

In bound 3, James plays Kanye and Seth plays Kim. James wore a similar out to the one Kanye had on in the original and Seth Rogen was no afraid to show off his hairy chest! As much as the video was hilarious enough, there was peak in the video that made it THAT much better than bound 2. In bound 2, Kanye and Kim shared a passionate kiss halfway through the song. And as everyone expected, Franco and Seth had a even hotter make out session than Kimye! 

Bound 3 is what made bound 2 famous. The hilarious duo quickly attracted attention from all over the social media, Kim and Kanye included. Thank god that Kanye actually had a sense of humor and didn't file for a lawsuit or storm out and declare a war on James Franco. Phew! 

Bound 2 has 24 million hits with 271 thousands dislike and 100 thousands likes. Bound 3 THE ORIGINAL VIDEO received 3 millions hits and 500 dislikes and 23 thousand dislikes. However Bound 3 was reposted several times therefore the total view and like/dislike ratio can't be properly determined. 

San Francisco BatKid

The Riddler, the Penguin, they are no match for the Batkid! In San Francisco, a young United States citizen name Miles who is currently 5 years old and battling leukemia had a wish to be Batman for a day and save Gothem from the evil villains.

Miles's wish was granted through Make A Wish Foundation and the with the help of the entire San Francisco foundation. The streets in the city  were lined up for the brave Batkid to the save the day. Thousands of spectators and supporters came to San Francisco to cheer Miles on as he takes down the evil 

Penguin, saves a damsel in distress and stop the Riddler from robbing a bank. Miles was assembled by Batman to go help him save Gothem. They travelled in a black Lamborghini with Batman's symbol on the hood characterizing as the Bat Mobile. The make a wish foundation set up the streets of San Francisco and planted crimes for Miles to fight. Miles's heroic days caught many attention of celebrities around the country. 

President Obama sent Miles a Vine video cheering him on. Encouraging tweets came from Adam West, Val Kilmer, Ben Affleck, Hans Zimmer, New Orleans Saints, Cheryl Burke, Olivia Munn, Anna Kendrick, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, Khloe Kardashian, Zachary Levi, Haley Williams and from Batman himself; Christian Bale. 

''This little kid, oh my God — what a wonderful day for the little fella! It's just fantastic, seeing all those people who were out there to support it."- Christian Bale on Batkid. 

This is no doubt a touching story. It's absolutely amazing to see the community, the country and even the world coming together to support a little kid's wish. Now we know Gothem will be safe thanks to Batkid Miles Scott. It's news headlines like these that restores the lost faith in humanity. Great job Make A Wish Foundation and to you, Batkid! 

NBA at it's lowest - The return part 2

Well well well, NBA had just begun and the 4 biggest star that everyone was waiting for the return have failed the public's expectation. Star point guard Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook and the legendary Kobe Byrant finally made their way back to the league for a fresh start but it turns out it was the only thing they started was The Return Part 2.

After Derrick Rose took the entire 2012- 2013 season off to recover from his ACL injury that occurred in March 2012, he was ready to show the world what the youngest MVP in the history is capable of. Rose was back on the first day of the pre-season and had a tremendous stat sheet. He lead the Chicago Bulls to number 1 standing in the eastern conference. His 2013-2014 career looked very promising. The regular season later started in November and Rose had marvelous scores... before he injured his knee once again! This time, Rose suffered from a tear in his meniscus in his right knee and has to under go a surgery. A day later his announcement of successful surgery, it was announced that Derrick Rose is out for the rest of the season. Yikes! 

As for Russell Westbrook who returned to the league in mid November, only missing a couple of games of the regular season, recorded his eighth triple-double on Dec 25. Two days after the Christmas game, Westbrook had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and is expected to be out through the All-Star Break. The legendary Kobe Bryant who suffered from torn Achilles in late 2013-14 season, returned to the league as well on Dec 8. After less than 2 weeks of participating in the regular season, Kobe Byrant suffered from  lateral tibial plateau fracture in his left knee and is expected to sit out through the All-Star break as well. 

With all these star returning and leaving, the fans could not help but worry for their team's future. Is Miami Heat going to dominate the championship title again? will anyone else have a chance with all these injured players? Even though NBA may be at it's lowest point right now, the fans never forgets to show love for their favorite players. In the second return of All-Star Ballot. Rose comes in 3rd in eastern conference back court, Russell Westbrook is 6th in Western conference back court and Bryant leads the number 1 spot in the Western back court as always.
